Denver, CO: The release of the new Spectrum TV App is just days away...
Speaker 1: The overall vibe here has been, I think concentrated energy. Everyone is focused. Everyone is driven and knows what deadline we're fast approaching.
Speaker 2: We will release for the first time, a single application called Spectrum TV that will work for all of our customers.
Speaker 3: You can watch it on your tablet. You can watch it on your phone. You could watch it off of your Roku. In some cases, customers are going to get new features that they hadn't had before.
Speaker 2: Video on demand, so they can start content from the beginning and watch it all the way through and binge on their favorite series.
Speaker 1: We also have a live sports component, so you can watch the latest and greatest football game. And it's really exciting to say, look, we're leading the charge, we're bringing this to the forefront.
We're a go. Yeah.

Connecting Spectrum’s technologies to our customers, the Industrial Design Team is a group of passionate creators who design, test and manufacture the products our customers use daily. From remotes to WiFi routers, this team ensures that our products are not only easy and accessible to use, but also optimized for performance.
The design process is about empathy.
Inspiration can be drawn from infinite sources.
One thing that we all have in common here is a love for design and art.
We are the industrial design team.
We design the custom set top boxes, remote controls, internet modems and Wi-Fi routers, as well as the self-install kits and user instructions.
So I'm the bridge between the customer and the product to make sure it gets activated and working properly.
Our team sketches concepts. We’re doing 3D modeling. We do prototypes. We test these prototypes.
We do a lot of testing.
Yeah, we do and sometimes we get product ideas from customers as well.
And then we work with manufacturers to get them into customers’ homes.
These are our three 3D printers.
This is our space.
The difference between an industrial designer and you know other creative realms are that I use 3D CAD 3D printing prototyping all that kind of stuff.
Michelangelo use paint brushes and I use Wi-Fi routers.

Every project has its own design approach.
Designing something like a remote… it has to be comfortable.
There’s a huge breadth of unique hands in the world and really understand the anatomy and ergonomics of that.
You know something like a Wi-Fi router you're really diving into more Wi-Fi performance.
The products that we design end up in millions of people's homes so it's pretty cool to see.
It’s very important for our products to be a part of the user's home and for people to be excited to put this product in their home.
If people are excited to keep a Wi-Fi router out in the open, they're going to get better connectivity and they're going to get better service.
We’ve been incorporating the Universal Design principles within our design process which is designing for people of low vision and disabilities and other impairments and if we can make minute changes to these to improve customers’ experiences we can really make a change.
We’re actually visiting a customer of our company, and they had our router and they asked me to sign the router that we had designed.
So there's one of the devices out there within with an autograph on it.
Getting a product that we've made in our hands that's probably one of the best days almost like having a child.
