VP, Environment Health/Safety
The VP, Environment Health & Safety (EHS) is responsible for the overall creation, development, and maintenance of an effective Environmental Health & Safety program for the organization and its projects, supporting approximately 100K employees and 25 million customers. Accountable for planning, developing, implementing, and measuring safety and accident prevention policies, programs and training. Ensures safety programs are consistently administered throughout all regions within Charter and comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
- Work with the executive management team and operations leaders to create a safety strategy that can be implemented across the organization.
- Accountable for measuring and providing updates on strategy implementation and performance.
- Implement safety standards and expectations and facilitates site-specific systems designed to significantly reduce employee injuries and illnesses.
- Lead and maintain all safety records, analyze trends, report statistics, and manage non-compliance.
- Lead and manage all potential accidents, hazard/accident investigations and reporting.
- Lead, develop, implement, and maintain all environmental and safety programs, policies, and procedures based on leading indicators.
- Lead and promote the organization while building a positive safety culture focus.
- Lead and coach all employees on interpretation and administration of EHS&S policies and procedures.
- Oversee safety audit program to document standards compliance and safety program effectiveness.
- Work with management to implement and institutionalize changes to continuously raise performance and integrate superior practices and high expectations into culture.
- Ensure consistency throughout the company in all aspects of safety, including policies, training, compliance and procedures.
- Effectively communicate current safety performance, potential hazards, serious incidents, regulatory inquiries, and changes to guidelines affecting safety policies and procedures.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Provide regulatory interpretation and technical advice as needed.
- Point of contact for external inquiries related to safety and compliance matters.
- Responsible for hiring, training, development and performance management of staff.
- Contribute to the company’s strategies through the preparation of business fulfillment plans, budgeting and forecasting.
- Establish and enhance metrics for measuring the performance of initiatives.
- Translate corporate strategies and priorities into short- and mid-term objectives for the function.
- Identify future needs and qualifies opportunities for new offerings based on fact-based, market-driven insights and analyses.
- Perform other duties as requested.

Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health or related field, or equivalent experience
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Safety Manager (CSM), or Certified Safety & Health Officer (CSHO) preferred
- Valid driver's licenses with satisfactory driving record within Company required standards
Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years
- Progressively responsible safety related experience - 12+
- Management experience - 10+
- Management of cross functional teams - 5+
