Manager, People Analytics
JOB SUMMARY
The Manager, HRT Analytics will be instrumental in shaping and executing the redesign of the overall HR analytics strategy. This includes actively contributing to the formulation of a comprehensive analytics roadmap, aligning HR analytics initiatives with broader organizational goals, and collaborating with leadership and Centers of Excellences to ensure that data-driven insights drive strategic decision-making. This role will require a strategic mindset to not only address current business needs but also anticipate future analytics requirements, ensuring that the company remains at the forefront of leveraging HR data.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
- Act as liaison between HR Technology, various Centers of Excellence (COE) and/or external Vendor teams by planning, conducting and directing the analysis of highly complex business problems to be solved by technology
- Serve as subject matter expert and ensures effective management of current and future HR systems, processes and programs through analysis and assessment of business needs and system capabilities
- Partners with senior management to acquire / assign necessary resources from cross-functional teams, evaluate potential projects, and build senior management support
- Responsible for communicating project statuses to senior management team, COEs, and executive sponsors
- Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with the COEs, external vendors and internal technology
- Ensures that analysts who function as the first point of contact for the team provide quality service to the organization
- Develop business requirement definition and functional specifications for HR Systems development, modifications and/or configurations
- Conduct work flow analyses, evaluating systems changes required to support processes, and designing and implementing test plans to validate those changes
- Produce enhancement support documentation and/or end user training guides to support all processes
- Adhere to SDLC, HRIS change control practices/processes, SOX policies and practices, and audit requirements and procedures
- Manage external vendor relationships including maintaining awareness of vendor strategic direction and impacts to Charter HR Systems product updates and enhancements and manage vendor deliverables as it relates to technology changes
- Act as escalation point for Tier II and Tier III production issues that cannot be managed by Support Analyst
- Collaborate with the HR Technology management team to manage HR Technology projects, assign resources, conduct feasibility studies, scope and budget requested changes, establish project milestone dates (requirements, development, testing and implementation), escalate testing issues and discuss and document overall project status
- Provide consultative systems services on projects that span various functional areas at Charter (Payroll, Finance, Internal Technology, HR, etc.)
- Advise on HR business/system processes and impacts, and partner with appropriate groups to achieve business needs
- Design, build and extract large and complex data sets while partnering with HR, learning and Recruiting teams across business lines
- Work closely with HR leadership to understand division and Port-wide priorities and initiatives and determine what data and analysis can be most beneficial in supporting organizational efforts
- Analyze and portray information based on a host of HR-related data and performance indicators
- Develop reports, prepare analyses and make predictions based on data and analysis
- Prepare recommendations for decisions based on data and analysis
- Present both high-level and detailed information to a variety of audiences in a variety of formats
- Assist HR Strategic Business Partners with their information needs around workforce planning and other efforts
- Design and maintain ad hoc and standard reports for ongoing customer needs
- Serve as subject matter expert and ensures effective delivery of human capital data and reporting solutions sourced from Talent Systems (e.g., iCIMs), Human Capital Management (HCM) systems (e.g., Peoplesoft, Oracle HCM), workforce analytics platforms (e.g., Visier, Oracle Fusion HCM Analytics) through analysis and assessment of business needs and system capabilities
- Consult with customers to identify HR reporting requirements and address business data needs; manage construction of ad hoc or recurring reports and scorecards, partnering with the Human Resources Technology team to develop ongoing system-based solutions
- Perform project management duties as needed to support data collection projects and the implementation of new reporting resources
- Work with large volume, heterogeneous data sets
- Visually present and communicate compelling data, analysis and findings
- Participate in implementation projects for new enterprise technologies
- Visualize and report data findings creatively in a variety of visual formats that appropriately provide insight to users.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with business stakeholders to analyze and understand human capital management
- Perform other duties as requested
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
- Working knowledge of Human Resources Operations across multiple functions
- Ability to apply a broad, integrated perspective when planning, problem-solving and assessing cross-functional impacts; this includes identifying critical steps, activities, and upstream/downstream impacts
- Demonstrated interpersonal, written and public speaking skills with ability to communicate complex information to all levels of the organization
- Previous people leadership experience
- Analytical skills as well as writing, presentation and data visualization skills
- Ability to prioritize work streams to achieve the maximum business value
- Must be self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work with minimum supervision
- Demonstrated statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, forecasting/predictive analytics, multivariate testing, and optimization algorithms skills
- Proficient in SQL Query, Excel and Tableau
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Operations Research, AI, Statistics, Economics, Quantitative Analysis or other related field (e.g. BI and/or database management certifications) or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years
- Data manipulation and statistical modeling experience in a large scale data, transactional, and real time networks and systems - 5+
- Business Intelligence project management - 3+
- HR ERP application and data reporting experience (e.g., PeopleSoft, iCIMs, Oracle HCM) - 2+
- HR Analytics application experience (e.g., Visier, Oracle FAW) - 2+
- Management or leadership experience - 2+
