As a BI Application Developer III, you responsible for the development of sustainable reporting solutions to help business verticals run their organization and maximize the utility of Charter’s data assets. The Application Developer III will be an expert in MicroStrategy report development and architecture understanding of how data is transformed from source systems into easily consumable information at the reporting layer and how that information is used in the organization to design, develop, implement, enhance, and support such solutions. - Actively and consistently supporting all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
- Contributing to solution architecture by approving data architecture as ready to be consumed by MicroStrategy.
- Transforming business requirements into sustainable BI solutions through the construction of MicroStrategy architecture, reports, and dashboards.
- Educating end users on the functionality of products developed and documenting those products for future reference.
- Coaching and mentoring junior developers on the team.
- Recommending best practices and innovativing reporting solutions above and beyond given requirements through delivery.
- Be an expert in MicroStrategy architecture and how the tool interacts with the data warehouse model.
- Expertise in transforming data into visually appealing dashboards that are easily consumed.
- Successfully extend reporting architecture as new areas of functionality are introduced to the warehouse in a sustainable and supportable way.
- Performance tuning of dossiers / documents / cubes for quick access to information through efficient SQL generation or caching strategy.
- Writing SQL scripts against the Teradata warehouse to support analysis, discovery, and testing of reports.
- Understanding and executing proper development practices through a standard BI SDLC.
- Understanding the fundamentals of a dimensional data warehouse model and how to optimize the way data is organized for consumption in MicroStrategy.
- Supporting and documenting reports in a way that maximizes end user efficiency.
- Quickly iterate and prototype on key business initiatives to arrive at a finished product that aligns with end user expectations.
- Performing other duties as requested.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
- MicroStrategy report development - 5+ years w/ Masters | 7+ years w/o Masters
- Data Warehouse design/development - 5+ years w/ Masters | 7+ years w/o Masters
- SQL Query Design - 5+ years w/ Masters | 7+ years w/o Masters
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Mastery of MicroStrategy toolset including Architect, Developer, Web, Mobile, Office, Command/System Manager, and Object Manager
- Extensive experience in data warehousing and star-schema architecture
- Demonstrated SQL skills with the ability to optimize, analyze, and improve performance
- Proficient in building complete MicroStrategy solutions including architecture, reports, and dashboards
- Proficient in MicroStrategy’s mobile dashboarding solutions for iPad and Android
- Self-motivated with an ability to confidently execute independently with little direction
- Leadership / Mentorship skills
- Ability to think creatively and apply innovative solutions
- Proven written communication and oral presentation skills
- Ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
- Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
- Ability to work with others to resolve problems, handle requests or situations
- Ability to transform business requirements into a technical solution

Required Education
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology or business related + related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Teradata and/or other MPP data warehouse platforms
- Experience working with Telecom/Cable MSO data and applications.
- Experience working with Tableau
Preferred Education
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology or business related field + related work experience
