Director, National Data Center
JOB SCOPE
Responsible for directing and implementing corporate IT initiatives, national services, and national networks that support the strategy and goals of the corporation across the National Data Centers. Organizes and directs IT functions, including local area network and wide area network hardware and software, infrastructure development and maintenance, applications programming/analysis and enterprise systems development and administration. Implements structured, consistent and disciplined operational practices to ensure stable product delivery aligned with company initiatives and expectations. Continually evaluates technology, develops implementation strategies, Directs project planning, and assist with capital budgeting and business plan development. Ensures a high degree of cross functional communication and participation in line with product deployment and support. Advises IT leadership of enhancements to existing applications and implementation of new systems. Provides strategic guidance and technical assistance to IT staff and business partners.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
- Develop an effective Leadership team and assist them with developing their direct reports as to drive a high-performance culture and environment.
- Oversees a sector of the IT functional area, which include facilities & electronics, powering, cooling, cabling, Cloud architectures, FCC Compliance and provides direct hands-on support for other teams for the national center.
- Implements IT plans according to the IT and corporate strategy.
- Guides the maintenance and enhancement of hardware and software systems that support field business applications and local area networks/wide area networks (LAN/WAN) for employees.
- Leads a structured and disciplined work team to produce exceptional results delivering the customer experience.
- Ensures field compliance with IT standards, policies, current procedures and all testing is performed in accordance with Charter Policy and Federal Communication Commission Standards.
- Directs quality control programs for engineering operations and consistent operational procedures ensuring adherence to company TQA policies
- Assists the National Data Center Leadership with capital budget process, execute approved budget plan and support in negotiating multi-million dollar contracts with third-party vendors.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Basic computer skills, with proficiency with Word and Excel
- Knowledge of computer and/or network systems, applications, procedures and techniques
- Extensive knowledge of company products and services
- Extensive knowledge of Routed Networks
- Experience leading others and providing constructive feedback
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
- Ability to learn and support new systems and applications
- Ability to work with others to resolve problems, handle requests or situations
- Displays a sense of urgency to resolve issues quickly and efficiently
- A team player with the ability to enable changes in the business processes and ability to work cooperatively with all groups is essential
- Ability to multi-task and handle on a pro-active basis, changing priorities in a fast-paced environment in order to maximize time-management and efficiencies
- Demonstrated ability to successfully distill complex technical information into clear, concise yet comprehensive communication material
- Demonstrated understanding of OSHA rules and regulations, both federal and state
- Knowledge of Federal Communications Commission regulations
- Knowledge of National Electric Code and National Electric Safety Code
- Demonstrated understanding of HVAC and power distribution systems
- Knowledge of Generators, backup powers sources, or alternate (Sustainability) power sources
- Knowledge of Electronic theory and/or Fiber Optic theory
- Demonstrated ability to meet rigorous deadlines while managing multiple projects concurrently
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
- Effective work ethic; displays a high sense of urgency to resolve issues quickly and efficiently
- Proven knowledge of information technologies and methodologies related to assigned IT/Network segment
Required Education
- BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience
Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years
- IT or Engineering work experience - 7-10 years
- Leadership experience - 5-7 years
- Project management experience - 3-5 years
WORKING CONDITIONS
- 50% Office and 50% Critical Facility environment
- Exposure to moderate noise levels
- Travel Required

The base pay for this position generally is between $138,800.00 and $246,400.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
